As a designer, my main focus is on the user and how they interact with space and objects. I believe that a carefully designed finished product can completely change someone’s life in a way that they would not have been able to interpret themselves. I consider it a priority to design healthy end products that incorporate the user’s spoken and unspoken needs. The idea of sustainability is an extension of healthy functioning products and spaces and can be incorporated into each interior surrounding.

Community Advisor. Iowa State University Department of Residence

2010 - 2012

Advise and mentor students, enforce policies, organize events, build leaders, and act as a resource were just a few of my day to day tasks as a Community Advisor within the residence halls at Iowa State University. I was a live in student staff member and was available for students at any time of the day. I also focused on acting as a role model through dedication to academics.

Client meetings, product displays, and marketing were just a few of my day to day tasks during my summer at the Kohler Design Center. During client meetings I would assist clients with bathroom layouts and product selection. Showing them the products in person that they were interested in was always beneficial to the client. I was able to challenge myself daily in product presentation, client interactions, and broadening my knowledge of plumbing products.

Design Intern/Sales Associate. Nest

Summer 2010, 2011

Product displays, customer service, and material selection were just a few of my day to day tasks during my summer at Nest. As a home furnishing store, Nest sold items for the home but also offered design services upon request. When this happened I would assist with measurements, hand drafted floor plans, and material and product selection.

Watering plants, customer service, and visual merchandising are just a few of my day to day tasks at Kohler Gardener. My main focus is on the customer and assisting them in any way possible and adding to their experiences while visiting Kohler, Wisconsin. I am able to challenge myself daily in product presentation and finding the most efficient way of displaying products that also makes them sellable.
